Sheet Pan Oven Bacon
A whole pound of thick-cut bacon baked flat on a sheet pan in a cold oven — hands-off, no splatter, and enough perfectly crisp strips to feed a family in one shot.
The cold-start method works because the fat renders before the meat protein tightens. Every other oven bacon method has you preheat to 400°F — that's why they curl and cook unevenly. Start cold; every time.
Break cooked bacon into 1-inch pieces for kids and serve with scrambled eggs — smaller pieces are easier to eat and less choke-hazard than long crispy strips.
Reheat individual slices on a paper towel in the microwave for 20 seconds. In the toaster oven, 90 seconds at 350°F re-crisps without drying out. Never re-fry — burns immediately in already-rendered fat.
