Specification: 6-8 oz sushi-grade yellowfin or ahi tuna steak (1.5-inch thick), brushed with sesame oil, seasoned with coarse salt and black pepper
3-Step Execution Protocol
Preheat grill to 500°F (260°C). Clean and oil grates. Prepare ahi tuna steak (seared rare, sushi-grade) (6-8 oz sushi-grade yellowfin or ahi tuna steak (1.5-inch thick), brushed with sesame oil, seasoned with coarse salt and black pepper). Spray lightly with high-smoke-point oil.
Cook for 3–4 mins. Flip at the 2-minute mark for even browning.
Deep dark grill char marks on exterior with ruby red raw center visible on the side; 115°F–120°F probe. Confirm internal temperature reaches 115°F–120°F (46°C–49°C) rare center. Rest for 3 minutes before serving.
